Træt af søgninger i www? Pinakes er en oversigt til centrale udgangspunkter i den akademiske verden. Her er ganske enkelt samlet en række henvisninger til linksamlinger, databaser, oversigter og specialiserede portaler. Samlingen af lavet af to bibliotekarer på det skotske Heriot-Watt University. Der findes også en simpel rullemenu, der viser, hvilke emner, der er dækket af de omtalte websteder. Så hvis du er træt af at rode rundt på må og få, så er Pinakes et godt startsted.
Listen af emner dækker stort set alle facetter af den akademiske interessesfære, så her er noget både for naturvidenskab og humanister.
Ordet “pinakes” stammer fra biblioteket i Alexandria. Poeten Callimachus forfattede 120 pinakes (tavler), der omtalte og vurderede forfattere til værker i biblioteket – en forløber til en egentlig katalog og desuden en kommenteret bibliografi. |
