English introduction

Who are we?

Informationsportalen (The Information portal) is a site for librarians and other seekers of knowledge. It is run by the Library at the Royal School of Librarianship in Denmark, but has emerged from a long tradition of government advisory.

History
The site Informationsportalen now has a focus om LIS and information search in general.
Informationsportalen used to be a governmental service organisation operating under the Ministry of Research & IT.
Informationsportalen was set up to inform and advise the Danish industry, research and central administration about access to and use of computer databases and electronic information services.
We were known as:
The Danish DIANE Centre - a name we used from 1981 to June 1993.
or INFOSCAN - 1993-2000.
Was a part of Statens Information (Danish State Information Service) from 2000-2002.

What can people find on this site? (well, in Danish of course)

From the main menu there is access to news on LIS and reviews on information search.
